North Side Sportsmen’s Association Guest Policy Addendum
The NSSA Guest Policy is explained in By-Laws Section 3.13. This addendum is not intended to change the By-laws, but to expand on the Policy, specifically 3.13.1, guests participating in unscheduled activities on unsupervised ranges. (Rifle, pistol, archery, West Range). This section limits guests to two visits per year. According to this section, guests are limited to two visits per year. Additionally, the Board of Directors has established a policy limiting members to a maximum of three guests at any one time, at any range. Exceptions can be made if the range chairman is informed of the date, time, and number of guests, and has approved the visit. This allows the range chairman to arrange for additional Range Safety Officer (RSO) assistance, ensuring safety during the visit.
- For this addendum, non-members and spouses and children (under 18) of members will be considered guests.
- Non-members will pay higher guest fees and spouses/children will pay applicable members fees.
- At any visit with guests, no guest may shoot while the member is shooting, and the member may not shoot while any guest is shooting; instead the member must monitor the guest.
- Only one guest at a time may shoot, unless another member is available to monitor the guest.
- Spouses and children 16 or 17 may shoot at the same time as the member only if they have attended a New Member Orientation Session, given occasionally by the Membership Committee. Those spouses/children will be given credentials as having attended the course. However the member must be present when they are shooting.
- All spouses are encouraged to attend any available New Member Orientation Session, after informing the Membership Chair.
- Any non-shooting guest inside any shooting pavilion will be treated and counted as a guest toward the maximum of three. Any such person must leave the area and return to a vehicle or the Clubhouse to not be counted as a guest. These persons are not permitted to shoot.
- Remember, at all times, the members are responsible for the actions of guests, spouses, children, and themselves at all ranges.
- Any person at any NSSA range must sign in, pay the appropriate fee, wear ear and eye protection, and obey all range and safety rules at all times.
