Owning a firearm won’t make you safer. Unless, that is, you know how to use it safely and effectively. Our training classes are designed to take you from any level of proficiency (even, in fact, if you’ve never fired a gun in your life) to give you the skills and understanding to maintain and deploy it safely in defense of your life or those of your loved ones. Our faculty is made up of the same instructors who teach and certify Federal agents, SWAT teams, and Executive & Dignitary Protection Teams.

When the smoke clears, the second fight begins…
This essential look at the issues, decisions, and consequences that arise from a situation requiring force will arm you with the knowledge to act appropriately and minimize your liability. Following a brief introduction to the law and key concepts such as Force, Deadly Force and the Castle Doctrine, the content will shift to student-driven interactive role playing exercises, introducing use of force scenarios to explore the challenges involved in the interpretation of Justification Law.

Designed for new and prospective gun owners, this course teaches the fundamentals of firearm safety for both handguns and long guns – in the home and on the range – and provides a working understanding of concealed carry laws and firearm transportation.
March 19, 2016, 9am – 12pm
The constitution gives you the right. Your family gives you the reason.
This introductory course will give you a comprehensive, entry-level understanding of firearm safety, gun handling, and marksmanship, as well as a working knowledge of fundamental firearm theory as it pertains to personal defense. Gun calibers, firearm ballistics, proper gun selection and safe ownership will be examined.

NRA Certified Courses
The North Side Sportmen’s Association is in the process of establishing certified training programs for novice and advanced shooters.
Many of these training courses will be based upon the NRA’s certified course offerings.
Course Name: NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course
Short Description: Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.
More Details: This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
