The North Side Sportmen’s Association is in the process of establishing certified training programs for novice and advanced shooters.

Many of these training courses will be based upon the NRA’s certified course offerings.

For example*:

Course Name: NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

Short Description: Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

More Details: This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.

Multi-State Concealed Carry Permit Class

A 4-hour class to qualify for a Utah and/or Arizona pistol permits. These permits will enable you to legally carry concealed in some states that do not honor a Pennsylvania Concealed Carry permit.

The class is classroom only – no firearms are required nor will any firearms be shot during this training (i.e. no range time).

We request that you pre-register for this course so that adequate materials are available for all attendees. This also helps us determine the seating requirements necessary for the day. Payment for the course is due at the beginning of class.

The Multi-State Concealed Carry Course, offered by U.S. Concealed Carry. These classes will be held at  NSSA in the main member meeting room.
