Dynamic/Action Shooting Restriction
Due to current insurance restrictions, all shooting activities involving movement with a loaded firearm are prohibited on NSSA property or during club-sponsored events. This includes—but is not limited to—disciplines such as:
- USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association)
- IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association)
- Any form of action shooting, dynamic shooting, or practical shooting involving movement
Activities Prohibited Under This Policy Include:
- Drawing from a holster while moving
- Shooting while transitioning between positions or cover
- Engaging targets while advancing, retreating, or moving laterally with a loaded firearm
- Timed or scenario-based stages involving movement
Permitted Activities:
- All static shooting activities (where the shooter remains stationary while firing) are allowed and remain unaffected by this policy.
- Drawing from a holster is permitted only for members who hold a valid NSSA Holster Certification and are operating within approved static shooting drills
Looking Ahead:
NSSA recognizes the interest in these types of shooting sports and is actively exploring ways to offer them safely and in full compliance with our insurance requirements. This includes reviewing potential range modifications, updated safety protocols, and supplemental coverage options. This policy will remain in effect until further notice while these efforts are ongoing. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward expanding the opportunities available to our members .If you have questions or suggestions, please contact safety@northsidesportsmen.com
