Due to the current gathering restrictions ordered by the State, the December Board of Directors meeting has been cancelled.
Meetings will resume in January as usual provided that the health situation permits it.

COVID Targeted Mitigation
In compliance with the recent targeted mitigation order, the following restrictions will be in effect from Dec 12 2020 – Jan 4 2021 at NSSA.
- All youth programs are suspended
- All outdoor ranges remain open; no more than 50 people permitted on each outdoor range
- No more than 10 people permitted in the Indoor Archery range
- No more than 10 people permitted in the Meeting room
Social Distancing must be practiced. If you or any member of your immediate household is experiencing symptoms of Covid19 or has been exposed to anybody with Covid19, PLEASE STAY HOME.
JOAD CANCELLED
Effective immediately all JOAD activities are CANCELLED until further notice. This includes training on December 22nd 2020.
Sight-In Day on Sunday, November 15 is CANCELLED
The Hunting Rifle Sight-In Day for Sunday, November 15 is cancelled. The rifle range will be open for all regular activity, as always.
Sight-In Days will continue next weekend, November 21 & 22.

Sight in your old or new hunting rifle, muzzleloader, or slug gun for the coming hunting season. This event is open to the public, $1/firearm for NSSA members, $2/firearm for non-members. You supply firearms and ammo, we supply the targets, at 100 yards. We will supply target spotting if you don’t have a scope, and advice and help if you need it. Sandbags will also be available, and a limited supply of ear and eye protection on loan.
The range will be open to members for general shooting, at the above rates. Please note that access to targets may be limited at times due to the need to service sight-in targets.
Sight-in days will only be cancelled due to inclement weather, particularly cold below 25F. If so, a notice will be sent out. The range will then remain open to members.

Rifle Sight-In Days will be from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sat 11/14, Sun 11/15, Sat 11/21, and Sun 11/22.
$1.00 per target for club members, $2.00 per target for non-members.
Ladies Pistol – Thank You Volunteers
The Ladies Pistol class was a great success. We received many compliments from the students and we are looking forward to opportunities to grow.
The curriculum was very informative and delivered well; Classroom exercises helped prepare students for range activities. The range procedures were very well organized and methodical to ensure safety as well as promote instruction during range exercises. Range Safety Officers went above and beyond their normal duty and facilitated instruction as well as ensuring range safety. I was impressed with the professionalism and quality of instruction provided.

HVAC Installation Sept 1 – 3
As approved by the general membership, our aging HVAC Units will be replaced Sept 1st through Sept 3rd. One of the units in the Archery range has already failed beyond repair and the others were beyond serviceability.
In light of the recent health situation and overall concern for the health of our members, the HVAC system has been equipped with HALO UV purifiers.
The Indoor archery range will be CLOSED during the day while the technicians are working.
Remaining Fish Fries CANCELLED
NSSA Members, and Friends. In compliance with a request from County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Health Director Dr. Debra Bogen for all non-essential businesses to voluntarily close, NSSA is cancelling Fish Fries for the remainder of Lent.

Spring Trap League starts March 5th
Every Fall and Spring NSSA hosts a 12-week trap league that takes place on Thursday Nights. Shooters are divided into 5 teams which compete against each other for shells, prizes, and most importantly, bragging rights at the end of the 12-weeks. Our Fall League starts Thursday, March 5th, with a 100 bird pre-season shoot.
This shoot is a great opportunity for shooters to dust off their guns and get back out on the range. Following the 100 bird shoot, shooters will be divided into the 5 even teams based on their score and known ability, and these are the teams they will shoot 50 birds each week for throughout the rest of the season.
Sign-up times are 4pm-8pm each Thursday and it costs $12 per week to shoot the league. This cost not only covers the targets each week but also the prizes and the end of the league banquet dinner that we have at the club. Everyone is welcome, including non members, so we hope to see you out there! Please be advised that during this 12-week league shooters are not required to participate in the league and can opt to shoot practice instead, however league squads will have preference over trap availability.
