We want you! To join CMP
NSSA can easily accommodate more CMP – NRA rifle match shooters than are currently participating.
This program gives rifle owners a great way to practice their marksmanship with a variety of matches during the year featuring a variety of rifle types. The competition is low-key, with the only prizes being bragging-rights. Safety is taken very seriously but all other aspects of the matches are rather informal. Most participants are only interested in doing better than they did in their last match.
We welcome any newcomers to our program, which runs from April through October. The match fee is just $10 and the matches are open to the public. We have all the equipment needed to try out the program, available for free loan.
We would very much like to encourage youth participation (which is a cornerstone of the national CMP program). To that end, anyone under the age of 18 participates for free.
The matches are generally held on the 1st and 3rdSundays of the month.
The September NRA High-Power match has been rescheduled for Sunday, Sept 25th. Sign-in will be at 8:30 and the match starts at 9:00.
We start each stage in position (a safety decision).
Each position gets two sighter rounds. So there’s a total of 58 shots, of which 50 shots are for score.

Clout Archery part deux
The Archers had great fun at last month’s Clout Round. In fact, they have decided to schedule another event Tuesday August 30 @ 6:30 PM.
It was quite an experience trying to hit a target on the ground while aiming at the treetops. There are modified sights for this style of archery but we all used our equipment as is setup for standard target shooting. Spotters helped during sight in to help the shooter ascertain the trajectory of their arrows.
Participation fee is $5 – prizes will be awarded to the top score.
This is a lighthearted and fun event for all ages. No Pressure! We encourage you to join us.
Members: Not getting emails?
Our email distribution list is created from our membership database. If you’re not receiving emails, it is likely your information is incorrect in our system.
We have found in most cases this is due to simple typographical errors such as missing/incorrect letters or wrong suffix (.com .net .org etc).
As we are currently in the renewal cycle, now is the time to correct these issues.
Please ensure your your email address and other pertinent information on the membership renewal form is correct and legible so we can maintain your records.

Multiple club Facilities closed August 19 & 20
The indoor archery range, meeting room and trap will be closed for a private event as follows:

Indoor Archery Range CLOSED July 25 – 29
The Indoor Archery Range will be closed the week of July 25th.
Workers will be repairing and painting the interior walls.
Indoor Archery Target replacement complete
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with this effort! The targets are in place and ready to use.
Soon, The old targets will replace the hay bales on the outdoor range. Also, A few of of the target frames outside are in poor condition will be rebuilt.
Have a blast on the West Range
The west range grand opening was a great success. We were happy to see many new faces visit and participate. Many commented that they enjoyed the visit and plan to come back. Special thank you to Randy Hoffman and the range officers for organizing the event.
It’s alot of fun to shoot the steel targets. Hearing the impact and watching the plate react is fun and more interactive than paper targets. The spinning star target adds even more of a challenge. Check the video and pics below.

Clout Archery Event Tues July 26
NSSA Archers will host a Clout Archery event 6PM Tuesday July 26 on the Trap Field. Participation fee: $5.
Clout archers shoot arrows at a flag on a pole (“the Clout”) from a long distance. Points are scored depending on how close each arrow lands to the flag.
We have held Clout shoots in the past and it has always been great fun.
