Introduction to Trap Shooting SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH

INTRODUCTION TO TRAP SHOOTING

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH

(2) Classes, limited to 25 shooters per class. 9AM and 1 PM.

Cost is $10 per shooter

• Intended for future trap shooting enthusiasts

• Youth, Ladies and anyone else who has an interest in the sport of Trap Shooting are welcome

• Members and the general public are welcome

• This is not open to experienced shooters who have shot at a club level ( ata or legal targets )

• All participants will attend class, then be instructedwith live shooting on the trap range

• Northside will supply the shooting instructors

• If available, you bring your shotgun and shells

• The club has a few guns available to loan on a first come basis

• Shells will be available for $7 per box.

Ladies handgun orientation news

The ladies handgun orientation class scheduled for Saturday August 16 has been FILLED and we have a waiting list in event of cancellations.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MORE APPLICATIONS.

PISTOL RANGE WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL OTHER SHOOTERS ALL DAY AUGUST 16, 2014

PREGNANT and NURSING WOMEN should NOT take this class and should avoid noise and lead exposure as well as chemical exposure from gun cleaning chemicals.

STUDENTS WHO MUST CANCEL are asked to NOTIFY us ASAP at pistolclass@northsidesportsmen.com, so that a person on the waiting list can be assigned.

STUDENTS and COACHES MUST  wear shirts with tight-fitting necks and baseball style caps with bills to prevent hot brass from entering their clothing or falling behind protective eye wear.  You will be walking on dirt and will need clothing suitable for the weather as well as your hat.

Helping with the class will count towards reducing your NSSA dues.  Harry will soon take inventory of available coaches and other volunteers and make assignments.  All volunteer coaches are asked to be at the range no later than 8:00 am for orientation by Dave Nelson, Dave Mink, and Dave Benko.

COACHES: Ideal candidates are pistol instructors, range officers, law enforcement officers and other people who have received quality pistol training.

SETUP: Move tables and target racks immediately before and after the event.

Pistol range safety rules

All members who use the pistol range are requested to review the NSSA Pistol Range Rules and Procedures.  The rules are posted at the range, but members and guests should be familiar with the rules BEFORE coming to the range.  The rules are a short course on NECESSARY SAFETY AND COURTESY.  Unsafe gun handling cannot be tolerated.  Pay particular attention to Rule #2 and Rule #3

Membership Renewal Reminder

Members, renewal notices have been mailed and should have been delivered at this point. Please review the renewal instructions and validate your details on the form for correctness.

The top portion of the form should be returned with your membership payment and must be returned even if the member status is life or military member.

Include any volunteer time cards which have been signed off by your work party chair along with your payment and billing invoice the annual renewal amount. The renewal rate will be reduced by up to $50 depending on the hours of service. The hourly reduction amount for volunteer service  is  $8.33.

Family representing members who serve in the military that are currently deployed should return the form along with a copy of military orders designating active duty status for the upcoming year as they are eligible for dues to be waived. Please be sure to black out any sensitive details as necessary.

Payment is required by September 30, 2014 to maintain your membership in good standing. Members not paid in full by this time will have all membership privileges revoked. Otherwise all club property will be off limits to you and access card will be shut off. Members who pay late may expect long delays in processing your renewal.

Any member not paid by October 31 will be terminated and must reapply for new membership, pay new member fees, attend a general membership meeting and also attend an orientation session. Note that membership is currently at its maximum and a waiting list is being maintained.

North Side Sportmen’s Association is located in Northern Allegheny County on the border of Butler County. The Association maintains 200 rolling acres, open to members for hunting of deer, turkey, small game and shooting trap, skeet, indoor & outdoor archery, 3D, running deer, pistol, long & short range rifle, black powder, shotgun sabots and other outdoor sportsmen activities.
