2016 NSSA Handgun Challenge
Join us on the West Range for the 2016 Handgun Challenge on Sunday, September 11th. Registration will be from 9am-10am with shooting starting at 10am. The cost is $10 to participate. Have a blast on the West Range
The west range grand opening was a great success. We were happy to see many new faces visit and participate. Many commented that they enjoyed the visit and plan to come back. Special thank you to Randy Hoffman and the range officers for organizing the event.
It’s alot of fun to shoot the steel targets. Hearing the impact and watching the plate react is fun and more interactive than paper targets. The spinning star target adds even more of a challenge. Check the video and pics below.

West Range Grand Opening
Join us for the Grand Opening of the West Range on Sunday, July 10th! There will be FREE SHOOTING, free food, and free drinks from 10am-2pm. This is a great opportunity for you to take advantage of the beautiful new range your club has built for its members to enjoy! Click here for more info.
Wednesday Night Tactical Shoot
We will be holding a new event on Wednesday, July 13th at 6pm. Shooters will be shooting paper targets from behind multiple barricades with a tactical reload. Cost is $10 per shooter. Click here for more info.
Season closing Plate shoot Nov 22
Due to popular demand, The West Range officers have agreed to offer one final shoot for the season. This will be a steel plate shoot only on Nov 22nd from 10 am til 100pm. Come on out folks, this is your last chance to take part until spring arrives!
The cost for the shoot is $10.00 to shoot all day.
Deer Season Range Closures and Member Meeting Schedule change
In observance of the first week of Deer Season please be aware of the following.
ALL Ranges will be CLOSED from dawn to dusk Nov 30th – Dec 5th.
The December General Membership Meeting is rescheduled to Dec 8
AR15 Challenge Sept 13th
NSSA will host an AR15 challenge on Sunday Sept 13th on the West Range.
The AR 15 challenge will test your shooting skills using your AR15 at 7 different stages in various different positions: Standing, kneeling, prone strong arm and weak arm.
Requirements:
2 magazines for some of the stages. You will need at least 68 rounds of ammunition.
Rules:
You may use any AR style firearm and any sight but you may not change sights or the firearm during completion. If we have poor weather we will not require prone shooting – an alternate position will be decided.
Registration:
Please email west.range@northsidesportsmen.com to register for the event.
The cost will be $20 .00 to shoot the challenge.
Sign in starts at 9am, shooting begins at 10am. Any shooters not shooting at the time will be required to help target changes and scoring.

3 gun primer
For those who are curious about 3 gun, check out this video shoot by one of our participants at our first 3 gun event of the season. If you are looking for a fun and challenging shooting event, we welcome you to join us. As usual, this event is open to the public.
3 Gun Shoot season opener Sunday May 31
Next Sunday May 31 will be the first 3 gun shoot of the year. Last month’s pin and plate shoot was a great success and we expect the same for 3 gun as well. Come out and see how the West Range development is progressing and enjoy the day shooting with your fellow members!
We have made changes to the details for this upcoming season:
1) 22 Rifle – Shooters must hit 16 targets; 8 targets at stage 1, perform a tactical reload and then shoot 8 targets at stage 2. The shooter may load 10 round in each clip.
2) Shotgun – Shooters will have 6 poppers to hit as they move through the course.
3) Pistol – The shooter will have 5 targets at 2 different positions and must perform a tactical reload between positions.
Don’t forget sign up early! We will accept sign in from 9 am to 950 am so we can get ready to shoot at 10:00 am.
The price will be $10.00 to shoot. There will be 12 gauge shotgun shells at the shoot to purchase if you need more ammo. We will do our best to move you through the course at quickly and safely as possible.
Please remember, hollow point ammo is NOT permitted.
