This message is a reminder to all members about Northside’s policy on bringing guests, accepted last year by the Board of Directors. Any member bringing more than 3 guests to shoot at any range must first contact the Range Chairman to discuss the date and number of guests. Members are personally responsible for the actions of their guests, and the Board of Directors does not feel that one member can monitor and ensure the safe conduct of more than 3 guests at a time. The range chairman can make arrangements to have help available to accommodate the extra guests, if needed.
This policy only includes non scheduled events, such as open shooting on rifle, pistol, archery, skeet, trap, etc. Scheduled events such as trap and skeet shoots are not included under this policy, as there are enough safety officers for those events.
Also, please remember that guests must yield to members in case of overcrowding at our ranges.
Please respect this policy and cooperate with NSSA range chairmen to ensure safety for all shooters.
Stan Hoover, NSSA Board Chairman
The rifle range will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday Nov 11 so that the new berm can be seeded and covered in straw matting. This may also affect trap shooting.
The ranges will be closed as long as there are people working to ensure their safety. Thanks for your patience as we improve the property.
All members should have new access cards by now, and they should be working properly. Please let someone know if you have any problems, or if you haven’t received your new card, please contact the membership chairman.
Please remember that rules for using the new cards are the same: You are responsible for its use, and only you can use it. If you lose it, you must let the membership chairman know immediately so it can be turned off and a new one issued. You cannot lend it to non-members, and you must accompany all guests on NSSA grounds. Please comply with these rules to keep our club safe
All members who use the pistol range are requested to review the NSSA Pistol Range Rules and Procedures. The rules are posted at the range, but members and guests should be familiar with the rules BEFORE coming to the range. The rules are a short course on NECESSARY SAFETY AND COURTESY. Unsafe gun handling cannot be tolerated. Pay particular attention to Rule #2 and Rule #3
