This 100 bird event features $500 in added money sponsored by R&R Financial.
Club opens for registration at 9am, Competition begins at 10am. All details are provided in the flyer below.
Over 150 JOAD Archers from 11 different archery programs in the region competed at NSSA this Saturday and Sunday! Welcome to everyone! Thank you to all those who volunteered this weekend.
Every Fall and Spring NSSA hosts a 12-week trap league that takes place on Thursday Nights. Shooters are divided into 5 teams which compete against each other for shells, prizes, and most importantly, bragging rights at the end of the 12-weeks. Our Seasonal League starts Thursday, March 7th, with a 50 bird pre-season warm up shoot.
This shoot is a great opportunity for shooters to dust off their guns and get back out on the range. Following the warm-up shoot, shooters will be divided into the 5 even teams based on their score and known ability, and these are the teams they will shoot 50 birds each week for throughout the rest of the season.
Sign-up times are 3:30pm-8:30pm each Thursday and it costs $14 per week to shoot the league. This cost not only covers the targets each week but also the prizes and the end of the league banquet dinner that we have at the club. Everyone is welcome, including non members, so we hope to see you out there! Please be advised that during this 12-week league shooters are not required to participate in the league and can opt to shoot practice instead, however league squads will have preference over trap availability.

On Saturday, December 16th Northside Sportsman’s Club will hold a Battle of the Bulge shoot.
It will be the 79th anniversary of the battle that took place from December 16, 1944 through January 25, 1945. 250,000 German troops, including three full German Panzer divisions, were massed along the Belgian border.
It was Germany’s last large-scale offensive and a great gamble to try to turn the tide of war. Soldiers on both sides would suffer some of the harshest winter conditions and experience some of the most brutal fighting of the Second World War.
It was named The Battle of the Bulge because of the bulge it created in the American lines at the onset of the battle.
For an excellent history of the Battle of the Bulge, see http://tinyurl.com/Ardennenoffensive
This match is intended to honor the memory of those men who, a generation ago, were surrounded at Bastogne, or were members of Patton’s third Army that relieved Bastogne on Christmas day 1944.
If you wish to dress in a period uniform, you’re welcome (and encouraged) to do so. Rifles permissible include M1 Garand, 1903 Springfield, German K 98, and US Carbine 30 Caliber. Other rifle types may be appropriate; please ask.
COURSE OF FIRE
We will be shooting man silhouette targets at 200 yards.
We’ll start with the bolt action rifles by shooting up to 5 sighters at 200 yards, followed by 16 rounds slow-fire
for score with your choice of standing, kneeling or prone.
Then we’ll move to the M1 Garand or US Carbine 200 yards, once again shooting up to 5 sighters followed by
24 rounds rapid-fire for score, (3 clips or magazines of 8 rounds each in a 120 second time frame) your
choice of standing, kneeling or prone.
The two relays will be scored separately.
The match is open to members and non-members, and will cost $10, regardless of whether you compete with
one or two rifles.
DATE: Saturday, December 16, 2023
