NSSA’s Ladies Pistol Orientation will be offered on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at Northside Sportsmen’s Association. This orientation class will include both classroom instruction and shooting outdoors on our West Range. The emphasis of this class is safety and fun.
A training activity will be taking place on the Rifle Range and will be CLOSED this Saturday 7/18 at 3PM for the remainder of the day.
The West Range Committee and the Board of Directors have jointly agreed to modify the West Range shooting policy in order to make the range available to more NSSA club members. Effective immediately, a RSO is no longer required to accompany a member to open the West Range. Any two NSSA members can now open the West Range together at any time. This means both shooters must be NSSA Members, and does not mean an NSSA member and a guest. You must both be NSSA MEMBERS.
The only time the West Range will not be open to members is when a scheduled event or training session is taking place. So, before heading out to shoot on the West Range always be sure to check the club’s website to verify that the range is open.
There will also be a movable standing target frame available that can be placed anywhere in the stones forward of the pavilion for members that have been approved to draw from a holster and have their red holster sticker displayed. Reminder: holster work cannot be done while UNDER the pavilion.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the West Range Chairman: west.range@northsidesportsmen.

ADDITIONAL TRAP RANGE NOTE:
We have begun work on refurbishing the four trap houses and sometime in the near future trap will be closing for a minumum of 3-4 days for painting. You will be notified when this takes place.
As this situation is fluid, additional closures/changes to the above may be necessary. Any updates will be sent out by the Board of Directors when necessary. Feel free to reach out to shotgunsports@northsidesportsmen.com with any questions or concerns.
The hunting sign in sheet has been relocated to the outer lobby area. All hunting policies remain in effect and must be observed.
It has been the policy in the past for all outdoor ranges to be closed during the first week of deer season, typically Monday after Thanksgiving until the following Saturday night. However this year the PA Game Commission is opening deer season one extra day, Saturday November 30- but not Sunday December 1.
Therefore the NSSA Board of Directors has decided that the following closures will be in effect for this year:
Please understand that there is to be NO shooting of firearms during the range closures anywhere on NSSA property except in legal hunting. If you don’t have your firearm sighted in before Saturday November 30, you cannot sight it in here during the week of closures. Violators will be subject to disciplinary action by the Board.
