The indoor archery range will be closed April 20 – 23. Tables and chairs will be setup for the club fundraiser.

The NSSA board has approved changing the start time of the General Membership meeting to 7:30 PM.

This new time will take effect with the next General Membership meeting on March 7th and will remain in place until further notice.

The decision to make this change is in response to member feedback and results of a recent online poll. The most popular time was voted upon and confirmed by the Membership community at the General Membership meeting.

Please update your calendars accordingly.

If you don’t own a qualifying rifle , NSSA has two Bushmaster XM-15 E2S A2 with 20” barrels available for match use, free of charge.

The club also has magazines, slings, empty-chamber indicators, and a ground mat that can be used during the matches.  This is an excellent way to give the sport a try for just the cost of ammunition.  (Note:  Only factory ammunition can be used with the club rifles—no reloads.)

Match Meeting Dates (2017) Rev C

JOAD leagues from throughout our region will compete here at NSSA on January 6 & 7th. On behalf of Northside Archers and our Membership community, we wish the best of luck to all!

North Side Sportsmen’s Association is proud to support programs such as JOAD that promote youth involvement in target sports which help build Confidence, Discipline, Skill and Sportsmanship.

Winter has descended upon us but have no fear! Beat the winter blues with us Thursday Jan 5 and join in the camaraderie.

Six fearless shooters braved the cold and snowy weather to participate in the Battle of the Bulge rifle match on December 11th, in remembrance of the 72^nd anniversary of the battle.

NSSA’s CMP Program will sponsor a Battle of the Bulge Shoot commemorating the 72^th anniversary of the WWII battle in Europe, open to all interested shooters

Date and time: Sunday December 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM.  Registration starts at 9:30.

Place: Rifle range at NSSA, 325 Mt Pleasant Road, Warrendale, PA.

Cost: $10

Course of fire, 2 stages:

Stage 1: 16 rounds slow fire, 16 minutes, any position, at 200 yards.  Proceeded by 3-minute sight-in, up to 5 rounds.  Preferred rifle 8mm K98, but any period bolt rifle acceptable.  Iron sights only.  This replicates the German side.

Stage 2: 24 rounds rapid fire in 3-minutes at 200 yards, 3 positions (in any order) from an M1 Garand.  Again, proceeded by 3-minute sight-in, up to 5 rounds (slow fire).  24 rounds in 3 eight-round clips, one clip in each position.  No loading of clips until in next position.  This simulates the American side.

Additional points:

• All targets will be #27 full torso black and white, 24” x 45”.
• No target shooting coats or shooting gloves allowed.
• Period military uniforms welcomed.
• Slings, mats and spotting scopes acceptable on all positions.
• We intend to have a bonfire near the shooting line.

What to bring: an M1 Garand with 30 rounds and 3 clips, and a military bolt rifle with 20 rounds. Spotting scope, shooting mat, and sling. Check the weather and dress accordingly.

Sight-In Day is cancelled for Sunday, November 20th due to impending high winds (above 25 MPH) and wind-chill factors in the low 20’s.  The rifle range will be open for normal activity.
