2018 Sight in days
Saturday Nov 17/Sunday Nov 18
SaturdayNov 24/Sunday Nov 25
8 AM til 4 PM
Sight in your old or new hunting rifle, muzzleloader, or slug gun for the coming hunting season. This event is open to the public, $1/firearm for NSSA members, $2/firearm for non-members. You supply firearms and ammo, we supply the targets, at 100 yards. We will supply target spotting if you don’t have a scope, and advice and help if you need it. Sandbags will also be available, and a limited supply of ear and eye protection on loan.
The range will be open to members for general shooting, at the above rates. Please note that access to targets may be limited at times due to the need to service sight-in targets.
If you are interested in volunteering for sight-in days, please contact Glen Beattie at volunteers@northsidesportsmen.com. Hours served may be used to reduce dues for 2020.
Sight-in days will only be cancelled due to inclement weather, particularly cold below 25F. If so, a notice will be sent out. The range will then remain open to members.
Armistice Day Shoot (cancelled)
Update: This event has been postponed until further notice.
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the World War I Armistice, the Rifle Range will host an Armistice Day Shoot on TBD The course of fire is 20 rounds in 3 minutes from any period bolt action rifle (open sights only), at 200 yards. Targets will be full size torso targets. The firing for score will be preceded by up to 5 sighters. To make it interesting, we will fire from the backstop behind the 100 yard targets, simulating at least half of a trench. Cost is $10, sign in starts at 8:30 AM, and the shoot will start at 9 AM. Wear old clothes or WWI uniforms if you have them. We will hold the shoot unless there is pouring rain.
Members and the public are invited. This is purely a fun shoot. If you have any questions, contact Stan Hoover at rifle@northsidesportsmen.com
