Battle of the Bulge shoot

NSSA’s CMP Program will sponsor a Battle of the Bulge Shoot commemorating the 70th anniversary of the WWII battle in Europe,
open to all interested shooters:

Date and time: Sunday December 14, 2014 at 10 AM. Registration starts at 9:30

Place: Rifle range at NSSA, 325 Mt Pleasant Road, Warrendale, PA.

Cost: $10

Course of fire, 2 stages:

Stage 1: 16 rounds slow fire, 16 minutes, any position, at 200 yards. Proceeded by 3 minute sight-in, up to 5 rounds. Preferred rifle 8mm K98, but any period bolt rifle acceptable. Iron sights only. This replicates the German side.

Stage 2: 24 rounds rapid fire in 4 minutes at 200 yards, 3 positions (in any order) from an M1 Garand. Again proceeded by 3 minute sight-in, up to 5
rounds (slow fire). 24 rounds in 3 eight round clips, one clip in each position. No loading of clips until in next position. This simulates the American side.

Additional points:

All targets will be #27 full torso black and white, 24”x 45”.
No target shooting coats or shooting gloves allowed.
Period military uniforms welcomed.
Slings, mats and spotting scopes acceptable on all positions.
We intend to have a bonfire near the shooting line.

What to bring: an M1 Garand with 29 rounds and 3 clips, and a military bolt rifle with 21 rounds. Spotting scope, shooting mat, and sling. Check the weather and dress accordingly.

Meat Shoot Changes

Effective at the next Meat Shoot, which is on Sunday November 2nd, the cost per shooter per round will be $5. We have made this change due to
the rising cost of meat as well as other shoot management costs. Also,
please note that shooters will continue to be able to shoot their own
STANDARD TRAP AMMUNITION for the ten rounds of shooting, but they will be PROVIDED ammunition from the club to shoot in the shoot offs. We feel it’s necessary to make this change in order to even the playing field during the shoot offs. An updated flyer has been posted at NSSA on the office window as well as online. Please note that trap practice and trap league prices will not be affected.

Introduction to Trap Shooting SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH

INTRODUCTION TO TRAP SHOOTING

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH

(2) Classes, limited to 25 shooters per class. 9AM and 1 PM.

Cost is $10 per shooter

• Intended for future trap shooting enthusiasts

• Youth, Ladies and anyone else who has an interest in the sport of Trap Shooting are welcome

• Members and the general public are welcome

• This is not open to experienced shooters who have shot at a club level ( ata or legal targets )

• All participants will attend class, then be instructedwith live shooting on the trap range

• Northside will supply the shooting instructors

• If available, you bring your shotgun and shells

• The club has a few guns available to loan on a first come basis

• Shells will be available for $7 per box.

3 Gun Shoot (7-13-2014)

On Sunday July 13th, Northside will be holding another 3 gun shoot. The last event was a great success, and everyone involved had a wonderful time. This time around, a few things will be changing that all shooters need to be aware of. Here are the changes:

All of the bowling pins will be removed and replaced with steel plates
A penalty of 5 seconds will be assessed for any misses
A penalty of 20 seconds will be assessed for not finishing a stage
If a stage isn’t shot correctly, a 40 second penalty will be assessed

Additionally, Northside has a few guns to borrow for the event, although ammo will need to be supplied. Northside does have shotgun ammo for sale, but pistol and rifle ammo will be have to purchased elsewhere.

Finally, Northside would like to thank everyone who came out last month, and we are hoping to have a bigger turnout this month.
